Feeding stations and selection gates – The feeding concept
The long-term health of horses depends significantly on needs-based and horse-appropriate feeding. Scientific studies clearly show that a feeding ration precisely tailored to each horse’s nutritional requirements is the best prevention against both unhealthy overweight and deficiency-related diseases.
In horse groups, there is usually a wide range of different feed requirements. With traditional 24/7 hay feeding using fine-mesh slow-feeder nets, horse owners cannot truly meet the very different nutritional needs of growing young horses, easy keepers on a diet, allergy sufferers, or hard-keeping senior horses, all of which often live together in the same group.
With HIT transponder-controlled feeding stations for concentrate, mineral feed, liquids, mash and roughage, as well as selection gates giving controlled access to 24/7 hay areas or pasture, horse owners are able to feed each horse in a group individually and optimally over the long term.
Over the years, the HIT product range of feeding stations and selection gates has been continually expanded and further developed:
- HIT EASY concentrate feeding station – with straight-through passage
- HIT KOMPAKT concentrate feeding station – with L-shaped passage
- HIT EXKLUSIV hay dispenser – the core component of needs-based hay dispensing
- HIT KOMBI feeding station – combined hay and concentrate dispensing in one unit
- HIT SENIOR feeding station – mash feeding for senior horses
- HIT DUO selection system – selection with two exits
- HIT TRIO selection system – selection with three exits
