For more than 25 years, HIT-Aktiv has stood for a revolutionary new approach to horse keeping – consistently focused on the natural behaviour and wellbeing of the animals. What began as an innovative idea has evolved into a leading concept for modern active stables, setting standards worldwide.
Our story: From pioneering spirit to a recognised brand
It all began in 2001, when Dipl. Ing. (FH) Thorsten Hinrichs, inspired by the challenges of traditional box housing, developed the concept of the “movement stable”. Supported by Hannes Scholten, then editor-in-chief of Germany’s leading equestrian magazine CAVALLO, the idea quickly gained widespread attention. Scholten generously supported the young company and made it possible to present the movement stable for the first time at the EQUITANA trade fair – a milestone that attracted many horse owners and yard operators.
The term “movement stable” soon became the trademark “HIT-Aktivstall” or HIT-Aktivstall® (HIT stands for Hinrichs Innovation + Technik) to express the uniqueness of the concept internationally as well. The idea of active group housing combined with innovative feeding technology set a new standard for species-appropriate horse management.
To date, more than 1,000 HIT-Aktivstalls® have been planned and realised – an impressive testament to the trust placed in us by our customers and the effectiveness of our concept.
A milestone: The entry of Dr Andreas Jacobs
In 2023, Dr Andreas Jacobs – a renowned investor, entrepreneur and passionate horse breeder – joined the company. His involvement brings not only valuable industry expertise but also a strong international network and strategic vision.
Together, we now combine the experience and innovative strength of HIT with the entrepreneurial drive and long-term vision of Dr Andreas Jacobs – a partnership that enables us to further develop our technologies, open up new markets and strengthen the HIT-Aktiv brand worldwide.
